The Brand

Invoke Salon is a hair studio with a physical presence in Portland, meant to be a sanctuary of modern elegance. Designed to elevate both your look and your spirit, it blends high-end aesthetics with grounded warmth. Step inside and you’re greeted by a verdant, plant-filled haven where geometric design meets organic serenity. Every detail—from the curated lights to the ambient textures—reinforces the salon’s ethos: beauty begins with authenticity. Invoke Salon isn’t just a place to get pampered, it’s a ritual, a vibe, and a place to be undeniably YOU.

  • The client bought an existing salon and wanted to rebrand it to her vision. An unabashed mystic, her chosen aesthetic involved elemental symbolism, geometry, and muted earth tones (particularly deep green). She also wanted to emphasize self-love, balance, and transformation with the use of the tagline, “Invoke Self-Love.” Her salon is meant to target free-spirits, unique personalities, and be inclusive to all people of all identities.

    • I led creative direction and design to build a brand identity aligned with the salon owner's atmospheric aesthetic

    • Created an earth-toned palette anchored in deep greens and gold for a luxe feel

    • Built a typographic system balancing modern elegance with organic flow

    • Designed brand collateral across signage, packaging, and digital platforms

Salon Website

I built Invoke Salon’s website to feel as fresh and polished as the salon itself, whether you’re browsing on a big desktop screen or scrolling on your phone between appointments. With the use of Squarespace 7.1, the design flexes seamlessly from desktop to mobile, keeping the bold visuals and clean navigation intact at every size. Custom CSS adds micro interactions, navigation enhancements, and elevates the website beyond a standard Squarespace template.

Note: The client retains access to the site’s Squarespace account and is able to make edits. While the overall look of the site is still mine, a few layers maybe get reshaped without me from time to time.

Banner Deisgn

I designed a custom vinyl banner for Invoke Salon’s sponsorship with the Portland Pickles baseball team, translating the salon’s unique interior into a standout stadium moment.

Design Strategy Highlights:

  • Visual Language: Botanical illustrations and clean layout echo salon decor

  • Typography: High-contrast type for visibility and brand clarity

  • Production: Collaborated with printer to nail format, bleed, and color accuracy

Outcome:
The banner extended Invoke’s brand into a lively public space, reinforcing its identity with precision and polish.
